Let me know. The volume on the pads just seem to be turned down some. Got it Knock. Had to take Maschine out of Controller Mode. Then had to turn the pad volume up one at a time in maschine to increase the volume on each pad… Now they are hitting hard to balance out the sound level in the track. Great video! I love this workflow so far but I have a few questions when you have time.
How are you doing 16 levels of pitch in this workflow? Have you found a way to do note repeat in this workflow? I noticed in Midi mode you have a lot more stuff on your Maschine studio browsers than I do.
How about the view in midi mode? You can put the focus on the knobs, pads, etc, and you can move through the pages using the left and right arrows. Ok how about getting midi to work with plugins in Maschine. So I want to have Reaktor loaded into Maschine and I want to be able to control it not only from Maschine in Midi mode but from my keyboard.
How are you doing it? I have Lazorbass loaded in reaktor as a plugin in Maschine. I switch to midi mode and I get nothing, Is there Reaktor templates foe Maschine? You would have to give that pad a midi input channel to respond to, then you could play it via a midi track sent to Maschine.
Go to the input tab for that bad and turn on midi input, and give it a channel. I read that by default Reaktor only receives on midi Channel 1 but that can be changed. Any help would be … Read more ».
You can set the channels of reaktor directly in the interface by going into edit mode and clicking the connect tab. I read that by default Reaktor only receives on midi Channel 1 but the channel can be changed.
If I use any other midi track in Logic X and attempt to trigger sounds in Reaktor nothing plays. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You have to click the edit icon in reaktor to get to the connect tab. It looks like 3 squares connected by lines. Really appreciate the work you guys do.
This problem has been driving me nuts and I have literally been working on it with no sleep for about 36 hours to no avail. I have a beat I made in maschine that I want to move to Logic Pro X for sequencing and further tweeking.
I tried doing a midi pattern drop following a video on youtube and it did not work at all, instruments were being triggered for no apparent reason. Then I followed this video above just trying to record live midi notes played through maschine and it is … Read more ».
Ok here is what I want you to do. If you notice in my video the far left two boxes are clicked … the furthest one is the one that needs to be clicked in order to see the midi setup you made in the midi environment. If its not highlighted … Read more ». Thanks for getting back to me so quick. I wish I could forward you a screenshot on here but at into the video I do not see the checked boxes.
Mine seems to look a little different than yours could it be I am using 2. I realized the boxes you were talking about now, and I have them clicked, and inside that Library pane, my multi-instrument does not show up that I just created. I will investigate this further when I get in the studio tonight. I may just make a Logic session file like the one in this video and see if that works on your end. You have the latest version of Logic X right?
Ploogie…man I am so sorry I am just getting back to this. My Imac is out of commission until tomorrow possibly late tonight. I will definitely check the logic issue as soon as I get the imac hooked back up again. Also…press some scenes on Maschine to see if it plays like it did in the video. No worries man I appreciate the work you put in. Unfortunately I am still not seeing it. When you are looking for the multi instrument you created…have you made an external midi track yet. Like at in the video I made an external midi track.
The thing is in order to see the multi instrument you created the external midi track MUST be highlighted selected That is the only time it appears in the library.
If you have the maschine instrument track selected you wont see it. Try this and see if it works. Off top, righteous site.
I dig it, keep up the good work Maschine Tutorials! I have a screenshot if you want me to email it. I tried posting it but unsuccessful. I followed everything in the video to the tee…. Click Group and make sure the ‘Channel’ is selected. I changed like you said. Now I can record in logic. Thanks for it. But now I have trouble with the root-note.
When I will play the Kit, pad have no sound. It starts with the Kick on pad 8. Could it be that I have changed something in the “template 1”? Or is it a little change inside of Logic? BTW: I love maschine. But sometimes I hate the pattern forced arrangement.
FEX: I made an arrangement with maschine. Then I will add a longer second bassline to check out how it sounds. Now I have to create new patterns and have to record the notes in. I want to work with vocals. And in logic you can use awesome additional tools like flex pitch, It must be easy, otherwise you have to spend to much time to edit and rout everything. I have been trying to record my performance midi notes into Logic X when I play the pads on Maschine and have watched a bunch of videos and read these forums but I have hit a snag.
I created the multi timbral track showing a track for each of the 16 channels. When choosing the new LOOP mode, the start of recording will be quantized to the start of the Pattern.
Furthermore, when the recording is complete, the loop will automatically be loaded into an Audio plug-in and will immediately begin playback. This is a long-requested feature that finally sees the light of day.

It does take a day or two to get used to basic features and a month to really appreciate everything this thing can do! Pads feel great. Menu and screens are awesome and rather intuitive for moving around and selecting your sounds.
If this is your first controller or experience with Native Instruments, know that this comes with a great suite of initial instruments and sounds plus Ableton Live Lite which I started on and pushed me down the rabbit hole of music production.
Anyways, cannot recommend enough if you are looking for a pad based controller. received my Maschine today just to find out the serial number for all the included software has been used meaning i have to spend hundreds of dollars because the seller decided to use the serial number without any kind of notice that it wasn’t included.
absolute joke very frustrated. i would advise everyone to buy strictly from Native Instruments website. let my loss be a lesson. I been working with Native Instruments for over a decade and they make some of the best pro virtual instruments and this piece was a really nice surprise. It’s really easy to use and intuitive and though you have infinite ways to expand it, Maschine comes with enough stuff right out of the package.
This is a second unit I had replaced as the first unit did not work properly on power up, and would not get out of midi mode. This unit After two months the first encoder became erradic then unsuable. This unit has been used 5 times since opening. If you go on NI forums you will see this is a common issue. Stay away from this product. Could not love this any more than I already do. Very welcoming to play, beautiful layout, touch, and feel. There is one small problem with the software; the software interface is not yet adjusted for quality displays such as the Retina display or other high-end monitors and it has the old look and feels kind of interface.
This problem is shared between almost all native instruments software such as Traktor, Maschine, etc. I have both an MPC One and this mk3 and while I love both, I much prefer the mk3 for it’s quicker hands-on workflow. I’m new to music making and I like that I spend less time stopping what I’m doing and digging through the touch screen, it feels much less intrusive.
Le MK3 est presque parfait pour moi. This is the best option I’ve found for creating entire songs based on beats and loops. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Translate all reviews to English. This thing is a beast, it is a bit of a learning curve to get used to it but so is learning any other instrument really, I do really like this I wish the native host control was a bit better with Ableton I was using 9 at time of writing review so don’t know if 10 host control is better it can be a bit of a faff to set up the control.
But all in all this is pretty amazing and the software you get with this, including Reaktor Blocks and Massive are incredible. Every release I’ve put out since buying this has used the Maschine in one way or another. Initially I had no need for one but had some money burning a hole in my pocket and I wanted to be John Bellion. The layering on this thing is amazing, especially with the Komete bundle You can wazz the browser button to a pre determined preset bank, layer it on top of another one and again and again to get these rich tapestries of drum beats in 2 minutes.
It’s WAY more user intuitive than programming by hand although my only annoyance is the neccesity of Maschine2 software which frankly needs a blummin good upgrade. Report abuse. Translate review to English. Muss mich daher noch einarbeiten. Die Hardware ist top verarbeitet und designt.

Anyways, cannot recommend enough if you are looking for a pad based controller. This may be the best thing out there but I wouldn’t know, the serial number was “locked by customer service.
The guy ran the serial number 2x and said “it’s locked, you need to take it up with Amazon, they’re not authorized dealers. He said “yeah I am but the agent who locks them isn’t here and you have to send it back. Also, this doesn’t work with an iPad Pro , no matter what connectors, cables, couplers, etc. Until these clowns get their heads and rear ends wired together, I’m staying away and recommend you do too.
I like this controller more the more I use it. As a Komplete owner, and owner of other NKS compatible software; like Arturia Pigments, and their modeled soft synths, you can use, and tweak all those instruments, and effects as if you’re using hardware. I was someone who was basically dawless. I hated dealing with computers, and softsynsths. I was basically hardware only. Maschine helped me bridge that gape big time.
I feel like I’m playing with a real instrument. I combine the Mk3 with jam, and the combo is amazingly tactile. The pads are the best by far that I own, and the knobs are great, plus the slider is just fantastic. I play guitar, bass, synths, and see the mk3 as another type of instrument to get new ideas going. I see a lot of complaints from those who wanted a midi controller for their daw and were dissappointed.
If that’s the only reason you’re buying this then you would be. Get a push in that case. Being able to work as a controller with daws is just a tiny portion of its usability for when you have all the pieces of your track and you want to finish it with some vocals, and mix it in your preffered daw. It’s a lot more than just a midi controller. And it works the best when used with Maschine, and NKS supported software.
With NKS, and all of komplete you get audio previews of all presets, and visual icons on your controller screen, it’s absolutely amazing. So if you are only using this as a daw controller for ableton you are missing out on so many cool features, its primary purpose is not to be a daw controller. Perhaps Apple liked the slick MK3 hardware so much, it extended an olive branch to NI for a partnership.
Double-clicking the waveform will toggle playback for the selected Pattern. Alternatively, the loops can be enabled or disabled via the STEP page on the hardware controllers. When choosing the new LOOP mode, the start of recording will be quantized to the start of the Pattern.
